About Me
As a qualified counselling psychologist registered with both the HCPC, BPS, I bring both clinical expertise and deep empathy to my practice.
I have worked as a psychologist for over 25 years in a variety of child and adult mental health services. I have led both an adult learning disabilities service as well as a NHS adult ASD diagnostic service and am now currently working in private practice.
I have taught on the University of Surrey doctoral programme and have worked as an expert witness to the Family, Civil and Criminal Courts.
I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, with a special emphasis on EMDR, a powerful, evidence-based treatment for trauma and distressing memories.
I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent clients, including autistic adults and individuals with ADHD. My approach is affirming, non-pathologizing, and tailored to each person — recognising that neurodivergence is not something to "fix," but something to understand and work with in a compassionate way.
My Approach
Affirming & Trauma-Informed: I don't see ADHD or autism as deficits, but as part of natural neurodiversity.
Collaborative & Non-Pathologizing: Your lived experience matters as much as clinical criteria.
Accessible & Respectful: I adapt the process to accommodate different communication styles, sensory needs, or processing preferences.
